This is probably the number one question we get asked. There are a number of different training facilities out there with different ways of advertising their "price". As with many consumer purchases it is buyer beware, get all your facts and ask plenty of questions. Unfortunately, we have had way to many new divers come in and tell us how they thought they found "a really good deal" to get certified only to find out that the price didn't include all the required "add on" equipment, materials and fees which took them well over what they could have paid elsewhere. We are divers here for divers, all our pricing is simple and easy to follow, if a course price does not include something we tell you up front before you sign up and are committed. Most courses will require classroom sessions, training materials, some equipment and checkout dives. Below is a sample breakdown of what an Open Water class will cost when all is said and done. Open Water Class - $285 - Bring a friend for 1/2 price! This price includes your Classroom Sessions, Training Materials, Confined Water Sessions, and use of all SCUBA Equipment during confined water sessions. The cost does not include personal snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, open heel fins and boots). If you already own these, great bring them along and you are all set. If you do not already have these we offer them at a discounted price to our students ($165 and up for a complete set as of 2/12/08) Open Water Checkout Dives Within 12 months after your classroom and confined water sessions you will need to complete your open water check out dives with an instructor. We run monthly trips to the above locations just for this purpose. You are also free to choose to do your check outs on any of the other trips we have currently scheduled. All ready have your own trip planned? We can provide you with a referral letter, for a $40 fee, to complete your certification with another PADI dive store at that location. The certifying dive shop will charge a nominal fee ranging from $250 and up depending upon the location. Our check out fee includes hotel (1 night in Pelham, 2 nights in Vortex Springs), admission fees, tanks, weights, air fills, breakfast at the hotel, and all certifications. The only things not included are
transportation, meals not listed and SCUBA equipment. This can
either be rented for the cost of $60 for the weekend or you can do
as many students do and take advantage of one of our special
student packages and purchase their own set of equipment. (starting
from $999 with interest free financing available) |
