SCUBAPRO first appeared in
the scuba diving world in the early 1960's. it was
guided by two men, Gustav Dalla Valle and Dick Bonin.
They brought to the market many innovations for diving that
are still being used today. In 1965 the first version
of the Jet fin first appeared. After 40 years the fin
is still popular with technical and military divers
worldwide and is one of the most copied products ever sold.
Today, SCUBAPRO UWATEC
remains a premier manufacturer of scuba diving equipment.

East Atlanta
Divers is pleased and proud to announce that we are now an
authorized Sherwood retailer.
The year was 1955, just three
years after Jacques Cousteau’s book, Silent World,
introduced an eager public to the wonders of scuba diving.
The idea of unrestricted movement underwater was as new and
thrilling as space travel. Scuba diving, however, was still
in its infancy, very much an extreme sport practiced by a
handful of adventuring pioneers.
Sherwood had already been in business for more than 30
years, designing and manufacturing compressed gas and air
management equipment for use in medical and industrial
devices. By the mid-1950s Sherwood had earned a reputation
for robust engineering and precise manufacturing, two
qualities essential to making reliable life support
equipment.
Today, the Sherwood
brand has expanded into a full line of dive equipment and
products, each continuing the long tradition of utter
simplicity and absolute reliability.
